Mother Nature assists "Drop & Swap" project.
During The Summer Of
2010
Discussion were underway here at the Old Bridge office concerning
the need to add more Structural Capacity for our
Flat Rock, VA tower. While no
immediate decision was made, mother nature sped up the process on
August 12, 2010 by sending an estimated
105 mph straight line wind through the county. As I looked upon
the twisted supports, cross members, guy wires and transmission lines,
the decision was at hand.
We Contracted with Tower Innovations to design and manufacture a
new 265' self -support solid leg replacement. This new tower was
designed to meet EIA/TIA REV-G with 116 lines of 1 5/8" heliax. A high
capacity tower to say the least. The new foundation was completed on
October 1, 2010 and the tower was erected and completed on November
15, 2010.
So hats off to mother nature, a swift and efficient decision maker!
